Guns Akimbo

Guns Akimbo to Premier at Toronto International Film Festival by Aleks Sakowski

Radddy.jpg “TIFF announced the second set of selections in the Gala and Special Presentations programs screening this September at the 44th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival. Three of the films are noteworthy to Bloody Disgusting readers and will screen in the fest that runs September 5–15, 2019.

First is the indie Guns Akimbo, a Jason Lei Howden-directed action-comedy that filmed last year in New Zealand.

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry PotterHorns, The Woman in Black, Victor Frankenstein) plays a lovelorn man whose mundane existence is turned upside-down when he finds himself enrolled in a dark social media movement that forces strangers to fight in a city-wide game of death, live-streamed worldwide to a fanatical audience.”

Akimbo Munich Wrap by Aleks Sakowski

For the month of June I was in Munich, Germany completing the second block of Guns Akimbo as 2nd Unit Director. It was an epic journey working with both NZ and German crews getting this project done. For the most part of the German shoot we spent our time in a decommissioned paper factory. I believe most if not everyone on that shoot will be walking away with a story to tell about the paper factory. I took a lot of set and crew photos and in time I will share more picture and information about the project. Congrats to Jason Howden the director for getting the job done. Now onto the post production.
